I. For a DN50 vortex flowmeter, the liquid flow range found in the manual is 3.5-50m/h. However, the flow result calibrated on the oil flow standard device is that 10m/h meets the accuracy requirement, but below 10m/h does not. How to evaluate the vortex flowmeter?
Answer: In the specification, the flow range is calibrated by using a specific reference medium, such as liquid (generally refers to normal temperature water). When other media are measured in actual use, the flow range will vary with the viscosity and density of the media. Because the viscosity of oil flow is larger than that of water when calibrating, and diesel with a density smaller than that of water is used as the calibration medium, the calibrated lower limit flow will increase correspondingly, which will narrow the available flow range. Therefore, the flow range will be narrowed.
II. When water is used to calibrate the vortex flowmeter, there is a big error in the meter measurement when a small flow rate is found. Why?
Answer:Generally, there are two reasons or two reasons exist at the same time.
①.When calibrating a small flow rate, it is switched to a small container, which is the deviation of characteristic connection;
②.When installing vortex flowmeter, the concentricity of instrument and pipeline is not good or the actual inner diameter of instrument is obviously larger than the inner diameter of pipeline. However, the poor concentricity of instrument and pipeline has an obvious influence on small-bore vortex flowmeter, which is often the main reason. Therefore, the concentricity of vortex flowmeter and pipeline should be paid attention to when installing vortex flowmeter.
III. When using vortex flowmeter to measure steam, I felt that the measurement result was obviously deviated. After checking with the instrument, I found that all components were in good condition, but I just didn't know where the problem was?
Answer: When there is no problem in the whole system of the instrument under inspection, it is necessary to make thermodynamic analysis on the steam. When measuring the flow of saturated steam, the saturated steam is transported on the pipeline, and the temperature and pressure drop due to heat dissipation, and the density of condensate is much higher than that of steam, then the flow of steam will obviously decrease.
